The Gorem Mech is distinguished by its imposing silhouette, marked by broad shoulders and a towering frame, which stands out in any collection or depiction. Its design includes multiple weapon systems, like missile launchers and arm-mounted cannons, which are integrated seamlessly into the body, maintaining a sleek yet intimidating profile. The color palette uses military greens and dark grays, highlighted with occasional blues for visual interest and to denote high-tech components.
Roberto Barrientos engineered the Mech using 3D software tools, primarily Autodesk Maya and 3ds Max. known for their robust 3D modeling and animation capabilities. These tools enabled the detailed creation of the Mech's armored exterior and complex internal mechanisms, which feature articulated joints and realistic texturing that mimics battle wear.
The 3D modeling process involved constructing the mech’s frame with attention to its structural integrity and movement capabilities.
Special attention was given to the joints and hydraulics to allow for realistic articulation in potential 3D animations or physical models. Texturing brought the Gorem Mech to life, adding layers of realism through detailed surface materials that mimic real-world metals and composites. This included wear-and-tear effects, such as scratches and dents, to give the mech a battle-hardened look. The use of digital prototyping and CGI visualizations facilitated a seamless transition from concept to a fully realized model rendered with cinematic quality.
